Registration and Payment:

You can register and pay for your class in one of several ways:

1. Online: Click HERE to register and pay now via credit card.

2. In person: Visit the Boarding House at the Historic Johnson Farm (see address below) during open hours (M-F, 10-3) to complete a class registration form and make your payment via cash, check or credit card.

3. By mail: Click HERE for the Registration Form, then download and print the form. Complete the form and mail (see address below) with a check made out to Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists.

Picnic Basket with Inkle Woven Handle
Class Description: Combine 2 crafts into one project for this sturdy Picnic Basket.
Inkle weave the handle and weave the basket. The basket has a wood base and wood feet to protect the inkle handle. Personalize your basket by your choice of colors for handle and basket trim.

Fee:  Payable by cash, check or credit card
$90.00 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at time of registration)
$100.00 for non-HWFA members

Prerequisites: Inkle weaving experience is helpful but not necessary. Some hand strength is required for weaving the basket.
Maximum number of students:
 5
Materials provided by instructor: All basket materials, yarn for inkle project (3/2 Pearl Cotton), handouts for Inkle weaving and basket directions.
Materials fee:
$45.00 (payable in cash to instructor first day of class)
Materials brought by student: Inkle loom if you have one;  basket tools if you have them - awl or ice pick, small pruning shears or something to cut reed, tape measure and if you have it, 3/2 Pearl Cotton of your choosing.

Additional information: Park at the Historic Johnson Farm Interpretive Center and walk to the Boarding House. Handicapped parking is available at the Boarding House. Please note, as a historic building, the Boarding House is not handicapped accessible.
