Teapot Gourd
Class Description: This project comes under the category of “When Is A Vegetable A Piece of Art?”! In this Advanced Gourd class we will create a life size teapot completely made out of gourd parts. Using several varieties of gourds, we will fashion the body, spout, handle and well-fitting lid. Our sample is in a Mary Engelbreit design with her trademark flowers and vines, but you will be able to customize your teapot with any design and color of your choice. We will be using leather dyes, wood putty, wood glue and acrylic paints to achieve the final product. This is not a utilitarian piece, but rather an artistic representation of a teapot.
