Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists (HWFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational non-profit organization committed to preserving and promoting the fiber arts. Through weaving, spinning, knitting and related crafts, we educate the public and celebrate the rich traditions of fiber artistry.Your donation helps us provide classes, maintain our studio space at the Boarding House, host community events, and continue sharing these timeless skills with future generations. Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists (HWFA) offers a Merit Award Program to recognize dedicated members who generously contribute their volunteer time to support our mission and goals. These awards are a token of appreciation for their commitment and service.Each Merit Award provides recipients with partial tuition for an HWFA class of their choice, helping them continue their journey in the fiber arts while staying engaged in our creative community.Your donation directly supports this program, thank you for helping us honor and invest in those who give so much to HWFA.

Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists (HWFA) proudly supports the next generation of fiber artists though scholarship funding. When designated donations are received, HWFA contributes to scholarship opportunities that help students pursue their passion in the fiber arts. One such initiative is the “Friends of Teena Tengue” scholarship awarded through Haywood Community College’s (HCC) Professional Crafts - Fiber Arts Program. This scholarship honors Teena Tengue and supports eligible students committed to mastering the fiber arts.
